The Mama Monster

Just the other day, Dana called me her Mama Monster.. You ask why.. I had a toothache and the right side of my face was so swollen that it looked like I had a sock in my cheek. That's why she called me her Mama Monster.. I love it! LOL

The only great thing about being this sick, especially right after Patrick got the flu, is that I know my kids love me for real!

Imagine this. Dana would kiss me on the left cheek (my right was the swollen one) and I asked her, "Is my right cheek so yucky you don't want to kiss it?" She replied, "No, Mama, I don't want to hurt you when I kiss you that's why I kiss you here." (as she points to the left cheek) Doesn't that just brings tear to your eyes.. I got teary-eyed from that I admit it :)

When I told her that I needed to go to the dentist to have it "fixed", she said she'll come with me so she can hold my hand.. awww.. ain't that sweet? kids, you gotta love them!!

Daddy looks like a Zebra!!

It's really funny what comes out of kids :) Just yesterday, I was sitting here in front of the PC. I heard a commotion near the kitchen and I heard Dana say, "Daddy you look like a Zebra!!" and I thought, "Whaatt?!!" So I turned around and I saw Patrick coming down the steps wearing a gray and white striped sweater (he was sick) and he did look like a zebra.. hahahaha

After that, Dana kept calling him "Marty" because of the Zebra character in Madagascar hahahaha

Dylan, meanwhile, was so fascinated by the sweater because he hasn't seen his Dad wear one ever hahaha. When Daddy put on the hood, at first Dylan was like.. "ooh.. what is that?" he didn't want to go near his Dad hahaha and then later he couldn't stop playing with the hood.. he kept pulling it off his Dad's head :)

Dana is learning to sign!

Yesterday, I was fiddling with google gadgets and Dana was sitting beside me. She was "helping" me choose the gadgets.. We came across a gadget that teaches you how to "sign" for sign language. She was interested in it because I used to show it to her to spell her name. It was funny that there's a gadget for it out there :)

Anyway, we were practicing last night and she was so eager to learn and it was also very easy. She wanted to show her Ninong Caloy that she knew how to do it because her Ninong Caloy also knows how :)

Dana can now spell her name using sign language :)

Having fun at the supermarket

Yesterday, Saturday, the whole family went to Araneta Center, Cubao to do some grocery shopping and to just get out of the house. It wasn't too hot out, in fact, there was some drizzling but the kids loved it because they get to wear their jackets and feel the rain on their face :)

These pictures were taken while at the supermarket. Dylan was making too much noise, not temper tantrums but excited noises and people were staring at him, not in irritation but in enjoyment. Daddy and Dana at the background going their own way :) One time, when he was younger he fell asleep while in the cart. We didn't notice that he fell asleep, we thought he was playing with his toy, but when we checked he was indeed asleep in the cart! I wish I had taken a photo at that time but I'm sure he won't appreciate it when he's bigger hahaha

He and his Ate Den were playing around, Den was trying to scare him! she would hide behind my back and suddenly appear on his right or left side wherever he's not looking haha he loved it as you can see from his face!!

What's also funny is that he looks a little like Super Mario! what with the jumper and the hat hahaha

So many identities!

Dana is such an imaginative child. Did you know that she has imaginary friends, just like me when I was her age. At first it was Jamie. Then she added Pin. You know how I know because she keeps talking to herself.. telling stories.. sometimes, she asks me if Jamie can go with us to the mall. :) Sometimes she scolds Pin for "spilling milk on the floor".

Dana also loves to watch DVD's. Her favorite is Cars featuring Lightning McQueen. Sometimes Dana would tell us to call her Lightning and then I'll tell her "but you're not wearing red" and she'll go and change into a red shirt hahaha After watching The Lion King, she'll be Simba. After watching Transformers, she's Bumblebee!

I told her once, Dana, I don't know what to call you anymore, you have so many names.. and with a big grin lighting her face she said, "Isn't that great Mama?"

That made me smile :)

Remotes and kids

It's funny sometimes that things you take for granted, like turning on the TV can have quite an impact on a child :) For instance, with Dylan, he sees us using the remote to turn on the TV and DVD (it's a universal remote), so everytime he wants to watch TV, he picks up the remote, points it at the TV and says "Wa" (for watch). Isn't that great?!!

Sometimes, he does it with the DVD too. He gets his Elmo DVD, goes to the laptop (coz that's where he usually watches it) and points to it and says "Wa, Mo, Mo" - meaning watch Elmo hahahaha

And when we're finished watching DVDs on the regular player, he gets the remote and aims it at the DVD and says "No Mo" - meaning no more, finished!

But sometimes, he uses the remote to "call" his Daddy like it's a cellphone LOL probably because of the numbers hahahaha

Aren't kids great!!

Here's looking at you Kid!

Welcome to my kids' blogs. Let me introduce them. Dana is 4 years old, born on March 03, 2004. Dylan is 2 years old, born on March 18, 2006. They're very active kids which is why I can't get them to gain weight! :D

It's hard to remember and recall all the little details that go on in their lives and believe me there are a lot because you never know with kids.. They can really surprise you sometimes!

So, this is my attempt to keep a catalogue of their lives and maybe when they're older, they'll be the ones continuing this blog! :)
